There's "good" cholesterol and "bad" cholesterol. A lot of
HDL cholesterol (the good kind) can have a protective effect. Too much
LDL cholesterol (the bad kind) and you could be at risk for
heart attack and
stroke. All the more reason to get frequent tests, and keep those levels in check with diet and medication, if necessary.
