Dr Steven Daviss
Steven Roy Daviss, MD, is chair of Psychiatry at Baltimore Washington Medical Center, clinical assistant professor at University of Maryland, and past-president of Maryland Psychiatric Society. He is double-boarded in Psychiatry and in Psychosomatic Medicine and is a Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association.
He is co-author of Shrink Rap: Three Psychiatrists Explain their Work, published in May 2011 by Johns Hopkins University Press. Dr. Daviss' interests include health care policy and reform, health informatics, and use of HIT and social media in health care. Dr. Daviss is Co-Chair of the CCHIT Behavioral Health Work Group, Chair of the American Psychiatric Association's Committee on Electronic Health Records, and is a member of the Health Standards Committee for URAC.
He also serves on the Maryland Health Care Commission's Health Information Exchange Policy Board and on the board of directors of the Anne Arundel County Mental Health Agency. He is currently pursuing a clinical informatics degree at Oregon Health Sciences University, merging his clinical and administrative experience with health care policy, informatics, and health care reform.
