Research Notes on Ataxia Telangiectasia


Ataxia telangiectasia (A-T) is a rare genetic childhood immunodeficiency disorder which affects a number of different organs in the body including causing degeneration in the part of the brain that controls motor movements and speech, resulting in ataxia. About 20% of those with A-T develop cancer, most frequently acute lymphocytic leukemia, lymphoma or breast cancer.
