Bio

Growing up in the shoe factory town of Rockland, Massachusetts, Dr. Oppenheim attended Thayer Academy and graduated from Antioch College. Antioch, a co-operative school, offered the budding dermatologist a number of life-broadening experiences. He worked as a librarian with the Washington DC bookmobile, a lab technician in the Department of Molecular Biology at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, sports editor of the Norwalk ( Ohio) Reflector, copyboy for the Boston Globe, park ranger with the Division of History of the National Park Service, and a worker at a biblical dig in Jerusalem.  

Dr. Oppenheim received his medical degree from Boston University and went on to intern at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore. Following residencies in pathology at Massachusetts General Hospital and Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, Dr. Oppenheim decided he would most of all wanted to become a dermatologist. He underwent his dermatology training at Mt. Sinai Medical Center of Miami Beach under the tutelage of  renowned dermatopharmacologist, Dr. Philip Frost. He then completed his pathology residency at Yale-New Haven Hospital.
