Life for me has changed dramatically - TuDiabetes
tudiabetes.com — “Since switching from Humalog to APIDRA http://www.apidra.com/ I have lost over 35lbs and no longer have any edema, I use no Lasix at all. It took nine months for the old preservative in the Humalog line to start working out of my system. I use 400U of Insulin a day so . . . it is not the amount of the insulin that causes the edema (water retention) it is rather the type or brand. No more cramps or hunger issues either and I no longer need any blood pressure medicine either! Here what I found ” View full resource at tudiabetes.com

Let's figure this out. *edit* - TuDiabetes
tudiabetes.com — “So I posted a forum topic about my apidra issue. Basically I find that it it dosnt work for me. One night I had to take 60 units to cover a simple salad (that didnt even have croutons). So some folks suggested I open a new pen and try that to see of maybe the one I am using is defective. So I figured...why not. I already paid for around 10 pens and they are just sitting in my fridge. So I wanted to just write in here and log how it goes tonight. For the past couple of days I havent been taking i” View full resource at tudiabetes.com

Changing insulin due to site irratation - TuDiabetes
tudiabetes.com — “My son uses Humalog, Animas Ping, and the inset 30s. We get a day and a half to two days per site, I find redness occurs consistently at the day and a half mark. Our doc told us to try diff insets, we did, without much luck. Another Tu diabetes member related the same issues and said she changed insulin to Apidra and it solved the problem. I thought this was an interesting thought...anyone else have the same issues?” View full resource at tudiabetes.com

Omnipod occlusions - TuDiabetes
tudiabetes.org — “Our son had two of them during the last two changes. The last one was at school. You can imagine what we had to go through to change to a new pod. His sugar levels had reached 300. There was no choice really. I had heard of occlusion with Pods, but didn't think we will have two in a row in less than 2 months of use. Had Minimed pumps for 9 years, not a single blockage. In fact, we switched to Apidra two months back with an understanding that Humalog may cause occlusions, but not Apidra. Does a” View full resource at tudiabetes.org

Moving along....Sept 8 2010 - TuDiabetes
tudiabetes.org — “Guess I'm not good at this. A lot has happened to me since my last entry. In Oct of 2008 I went though my insurance company and was approved for an insulin pump. I got an Animus Ping...I love it! I started out using Apidra...it didn't work so well and was switched to Novalog...that works great for me...but I was using about 200 units in 32 hours. My numbers were just OK not great. On Dec 6th, 2008 I was returning home from a trip to see my wife's father in Chattanooga. We had stopped for a late ” View full resource at tudiabetes.org
