$50,000 raised in breast cancer walk - GreenwichTime

Breast cancer survivor Barbara Wilson has made walking part of her fight against the disease. Wilson represented Encore, a group of breast cancer survivors that meets at Greenwich YWCA. According to the National Cancer Institute there were 40,510 deaths caused by breast cancer in 2009. Susan Boolbol, a Greenwich resident and chief of breast cancer surgery at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York City, said the death rate for breast cancer has declined two percent per year since the early 1990s.
